Bucks County Bank Announces Hiring of Amy McKenna as Retail Business Development Officer

John D. Harding, Chairman, President and CEO of Bucks County Bank announced the recent hiring of Amy McKenna of Churchville, PA to the Retail Division as a Business Development Officer. 

Rick Battaglia, Senior Vice President and Chief Retail Division Officer was quoted as saying, “We are pleased to have Amy on our team, and feel that with her connections and community involvement, she will be a great addition to the bank.”   Ms. McKenna shared in Mr. Battaglia’s excitement, saying, “I’m happy to be part of the Bucks County Bank Team and am eager to start building business relationships here.”

 Ms. McKenna has over 20 years of retail sales experience and currently serves as Vice President of the Newtown Business Association (NBA) and chairperson of both the Business Card Exchange Committee and NBA Business Expo Committee. She is also a very active member of the Lower Bucks Chamber of Commerce (LBCCC), being chairperson of the Business Card Exchange Committee and Speed Networking Event Chair for LBCCC.

Bucks County Bank offers Future Business Leader Scholarship to Delaware Valley College for a Second Year

Rick Battaglia, Senior Vice President and Chief Retail Division Officer of Bucks County Bank (right) recently presented this year’s scholarship check for $2500.00 to scholarship recipient Tara Powell (center), a Junior studying Business Management at the college and Joe Erckert, Delaware Valley College’s Vice President for Institutional Advancement (left).

“We are pleased to award the Future Business Leader Scholarship to a motivated student like Tara,” said Mr. Battaglia. “We are hoping that this scholarship will aid in the future launch of a bright and successful business career.” he continued.

Mr. Erckert echoed Rick’s sentiment. “Tara is a hardworking student who has big goals,” he said. “Her dream is to run a music venue. Thanks to the generosity of Bucks County Bank she can focus on her education and working toward her goal instead of how she is going to pay for school.”

Karen Perry of Residential Mortgage Division named BCAR Affiliate of the Year 2012

Karen Perry of the Bucks County Bank Retail Mortgage Division was recognized by the Bucks County Association of Realtors (BCAR) as the 2012 Affiliate Member of the Year.  Karen has served on various BCAR committees since 2007 and as Co-Chair for the Affiliate Committee in 2010-2011 when she also graduated from their Leadership Institute.  Her involvement has cultivated a rich relationship between Bucks County Bank and the local real estate community at the executive and legislative levels.

Chris Carter, Senior Vice President and head of the Mortgage Division, praised Karen’s achievement, noting: “It is the only award granted to a non-Realtor by BCAR and we commend her on this recent accomplishment.”

Bucks County Bank Offers Future Business Leader Scholarship to Bucks County Community College for a Second Year

“We are very appreciative to Bucks County Bank for making this significant investment in our students,” said Shanblatt. “This scholarship makes a meaningful difference in the life of a student by easing the financial pressures associated with pursuing a higher education.”

The Bucks County Bank Future Business Leader Scholarship will benefit a student majoring in business administration, accounting, office administration & systems technology, or small business management in BCCC’s Department of Business Studies.

Bucks County Bank Gives Back With Thanksgiving Food Drive

Bucks County Bank hosted a two week Thanksgiving Food Drive at all four branches to support the Doylestown Community Food Pantry, a program of Bucks County Housing Group (BCHG). Donations totaled over 400 pounds of all kinds of food suitable for the Thanksgiving feast including boxes of Raymer’s Homemade Candies!

“We have had a lot of storm-related demand, and it’s always busy around the holidays,” said BCHG’s Executive Director, Nancy Szamborski, on hand to pick up the donation. “We are very appreciative that the staff of Bucks County Bank worked so hard to make this successful. We rely on the community to provide food and they always come through,” Ms. Szamborski added. “We were really happy with the support for the drive, we are going to extend this until mid December so more folks can participate,” said Gwen Fisher, Bucks County Bank Marketing Officer.

Bucks County Bank Announces Hiring of Eric Goldberg to the Residential Mortgage Division

John D. Harding, Chairman, President & CEO of Bucks County Bank announced the addition of Eric Goldberg of Warminster, PA as a Mortgage Loan Originator in the Bank’s Mortgage Division.  Mr.Goldberg has over  5 years of experience in Loan Origination and over 20 years of overall Customer Service experience. He is active in the community coaching athletics and volunteering in school district programs.

“It is our belief that residential mortgage customers prefer dealing with local banks as opposed to mortgage companies or large commercial institutions. We are pleased to expand our Mortgage Division in order to serve more clients,” John Harding said.  Chris Carter, Senior Vice President and head of the Mortgage Division, shares in Mr. Harding’s excitement over the recent addition to the Mortgage Department. “We are happy to add Eric to our team.  Not only does he bring his expansive book of business to the bank, but he also has the energy and drive to successfully assist clients in obtaining the mortgage they need.”, Chris was quoted as saying.

Bucks County Bank Mortgage Officers Receive Five Star Mortgage Professional Award

Chris Carter, Senior Vice President and Joe Nelson, Sales Manager of Bucks County Bank’s Residential Mortgage Division have been recognized as 2012 award winners by Five Star Mortgage Professionals. Five Star’s research team  contacted consumers who recently purchased a home over $150,000 in the Philadelphia area. Those consumers who agreed to participate in the survey provided the name of mortgage professionals and rated those individuals according to key criteria such as overall satisfaction and whether they would highly recommend them to a friend. Surveys were also sent to mortgage and title companies in the area. The survey data was collected and scored, resulting in the list of 2012 Philadelphia Five Star Mortgage Professionals that allows only seven percent or fewer mortgage professionals in a given market to qualify for the Five Star award.

Donna Scalzo of Bristol, PA has been promoted to Assistance Vice President of Business Development within Bucks County Bank.  Ms. Scalzo has over 16 years of experience in banking.

“We are fortunate to have Donna Scalzo on our team.  Over the past year and a half with Bucks County Bank, Donna has grown our deposit base through her active community connections and attention to our customers’ needs.  Her promotion will allow her to focus energy on growing our market share in the Lower Bucks County area,” Mr. Harding was quoted as saying.

Shannon was chosen as the scholarship recipient because of her community involvement and volunteerism to local non-profits, and also for her choice to return to college later in life with a clear goal of pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree. This is Bucks County Bank’s first scholarship for Bucks County Community College.  The Bank plans to offer another scholarship again in 2012.

A new $2,500 scholarship is now available at Delaware Valley College thanks to Doylestown-based Bucks County Bank.

“With this scholarship, we intend to help a deserving student succeed with their educational goals,” said Harding. “This scholarship is just another way we can assist individuals in Bucks County build a thriving and rewarding career.”  

The Bucks County Bank Scholarship will be awarded this fall, benefitting a student majoring in business administration, accounting, management, entrepreneurship, or financial services.  In addition, applicants must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate students in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study, and possess a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average. In addition, applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of nine credits, possess a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average, and have completed at least 24 credits at the college. Bucks County Bank is proud to be the recipient of the 2010 United Way of Bucks County’s Traveling Trophy Award.  Each year, this trophy is given to the company with the highest per capita giving for a group with under 100 employees.  This is the fourth year that Bucks County Bank has received this award.

Bucks County Bank is proud to present The Rotary Club of Doylestown's second annual Four Way Test Awards breakfast to be held on Wednesday, April 27, 7:30 am at Doylestown Country Club. John D. Harding, CEO/President of Bucks County Bank presented a check for $1000 in support of the awards breakfast stating "Bucks County Bank is honored to participate in providing recognition to those who give so much of their time to the community".

Recipients are awarded for their application of the guiding principals of Rotary's Four Way Test in their personal and professional lives and were nominated by the community.

 Bruce W. Knipe of Perkasie, PA, has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Commercial Lending. "Since Bruce's arrival here at Bucks County Bank last year, he has taken a lead role in developing new commercial loan business throughout our trade area," Harding was quoted as saying. Mr. Knipe has over 25 years of commercial lending experience with large regional banks prior to joining Bucks County Bank in February 2010.

 

  Karen Lasorda of Doylestown, PA, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending. Mr. Harding commented, "Karen's work in the community and as a banker have been recognized in her receipt of the Patricia Clatch Outstanding Woman in Business Award, as well as the March of Dimes Bucks County Women of Achievement Award. Karen has been a driving force in the growth and development of new commercial loan business." Ms. Lasorda has been with Bucks County Bank since September 2006 and has over 19 years of experience in banking.

Gwendelyn Fisher of Buckingham, PA has been promoted to Banking Officer. Ms. Fisher has been with Bucks County Bank since 2004 and has been an integral part in the advancement of the Data Processing Department, maintaining the Remote Deposit Capture and Cash Management areas of the Bank. She has also been instrumental in the growth of the Bank's internal marketing efforts, coordinating the development of the Bank's website and advertising materials as well as enhancing Bucks County Bank's image through external marketing and community events.
